My daughter's challenges with beginning to read flew under the radar during the first half of her Kindergarten year. Krissy Hunecke worked with my child years ago helping to build reading skills. He is graduating this year and has carried those skills with him. Since she worked with him, I have been totally hands off on school work. He was able to do everything on his own and is an A/B student. Investing early in the extra reading intervention services paid off for us! Krissy Hunecke is a master at turning on the skills they need.

We have been with Spark Literacy since Fall 2023; the program at Spark has been very effective and engaging for our son. When we originally started at Spark we were in the early stages of our son’s IEP and Neuropsychological evaluation, Mrs. Hunecke was incredibly helpful in guiding and navigating us through the evaluation process and identifying ways to help our son succeed through his reading intervention sessions. He was without a doubt a “Covid” kid and missed a lot of the core foundation in reading and we had a really hard time getting over the hump with him, the support he was receiving in school was very limited and it was focused on the current curriculum not going back to the pieces that he missed while being out of school during the pandemic. Mrs. Hunecke was able to evaluate him and identify the gaps in his reading foundation and went back to the most basic parts of reading and literacy to help him grow and develop. Early on I remember her telling us how important gaining confidence was in helping him to succeed little did I know how strong of an impact his reading would have on his overall academics, behavior and decision making. The support that we have received will leave a lasting impact on our son and has really given him the foundation to be successful in elementary school and the years to come.
